Stakeholder Meeting with Biobanks and Research Centres

A stakeholder meeting with representatives of biobanks and research centres was held at the premises of the National eHealth Authority.


The meeting focused on the role of research organisations, biobanks and other data-intensive infrastructures within the emerging national framework for the secondary use of health data.


Participants discussed issues relating to data availability, access procedures, research use cases, governance requirements and the interaction between national infrastructures and the wider EHDS.


The meeting created an opportunity to identify sector-specific needs and implementation challenges while strengthening the research community’s understanding of the governance and operational mechanisms being developed for the secondary use of health data in Cyprus.
