Our partners in this project bring a wealth of expertise and resources to the table, enabling us to address the complex challenges of implementing electronic health record systems in alignment with the EHDS proposal. The National eHealth Authority (NeHA) (Coordinator) is a legal person of public law and has been established under The Electronic Health Law of 2019 (59 (I) / 2019) issued by publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus in accordance with Article 52 of the Constitution, which describes the duties, powers and the authorities. The Authority is managed by and acts through a seven-member board (Executive Chair, Vice Chair, and five members), which manages its assets and resources and carries out its duties, powers, and authorities. The purpose of this Law is to establish a framework for the use of electronic health for the prevention of disease, the promotion of health and the effective and safe provision of health services to citizens, the implementation of the National eHealth Record system for all citizens, the regulation of the storage and use of biomedical information and telemedicine. The National eHealth Authority is also under Article 17 of its legislation the National Contact Point for eHealth (NCPeH) for cross-border healthcare defined by EU. The NeHA by its President is representing Cyprus at the EU eHealth Network, and the as expert in the discussions for the EHDS Regulation in the Council of the European Union.

University of Cyprus (UCY) (AE) is participating via the eHealth lab (www.ehealthlab.cs.ucy.ac.cy) of the Department of Computer Science and the Biomedical Engineering Research Centre and has a long-standing collaboration with  NeHA and the Ministry of Health. The eHealth Lab has more than 30 years expertise in eHealth which is aligned with the proposal’s objectives, emanating from significant participation in numerous National, European and International projects, as project leaders such as: (i) "EU Digital Covid Certificate Platform" for the issuance of the corresponding certificates for vaccination, recovery and laboratory testing (eudcc.gov.cy which has been used by more than 1 million users) funded under the EU Emergency Support Instrument Action for Cyprus; (ii) "Deployment of generic cross border eHealth services in Cyprus" funded via Investment 6 (C1.1I6): Deployment of generic cross border e-health services in Cyprus, EUROPEAN COMMISSION Brussels, 8.7.2021 COM (2021) 398 final ANNEX to the Proposal for a Council Implementing Decision on the approval of the assessment of the recovery and resilience plan for Cyprus; (iii) "Cross Boarder eHealth Services in Cyprus" funded by EU CEF (2017-2021); (iv) “Integrated National eHealth Ecosystem (eHealth4U)”, that targets to develop the national eHealth infrastructure based on strict adherence to interoperability protocols for the offering of advanced big-data eHealth services, funded by the Research & Innovation Foundation. The lab developed the cross-border services of patient summary and eP/eD for Cyprus that are expected to GO-LIVE in June 2023. UCY is co-leading T7.2 and participating in WP2, WP3, WP4, WP5, WP6 and WP7.
